Leader Corner

This section is a reference for Den Leaders and all parent volunteers looking for help or suggestions in planning meetings or outings.  If you have other suggestions or recommendations that have worked for you in past years, please share!

As you begin to review your scout rank handbooks for the requirements for the coming year for your scouts, I want to make sure you know there are resources in the community that offer some programs. Some programs may require a fee for participation.

1. Winter Blast - (previously Cub-O-Ree) takes place in January, but sign up is in September.  The information is typically available in September also. This one day event (at a local HS) covers many of the requirements for each rank.  We encourage the scouts to attend and leaders often do not repeat the achievements at den meetings (lessening the effort).

2. Brookfield Police Station  - Offers programs specific to Cub Scouting for Tigers, Wolves and Bears.

3. Schlitz Audubon Nature Center - 1111 E Brown Deer Road, Milwaukee, WI.  They have programs for all ranks.  2015-16 Classes available for all ranks.

4. Retzer Center -S14W28167 Madison St. Waukesha, WI 53188.  2015 programming, includes some scout opportunities.

5. Discovery World - has held scout specific classes in the past.  Check website for current class offerings.  2015-16 Classes now available for Wolves, Bears and Webelos (both the new and old Webelos Requirements).

6. Waukesha County Museum - has help scout specific classes in the past.  Check website for current class offerings.

New Den Leaders must fill out the PACBSA Adult Application.
